Thinking of June

Hello Guests! It has been a very wet and soggy May for us here in Fredericksburg with the rain visiting us on a daily basis since….well since the first of the month. However, we have decided to not look at the negative of rained out weekends and events but embrace what Mother Nature has delivered. Our trees, gardens and flowers are absolutely lush and the colors could not be more vibrant. As we look to the week ahead and a great forecast filled with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures, it is easy to see the possibilities of things to do around Fredericksburg. If you are looking for a little something different from touring battlefields and wineries (although these are great things to do!)..but still want to enjoy the outdoors and the beauty of our rivers and parks…one thing keeps coming to mind…….It is the perfect place to come for a picnic!

The premise is quiet simple… you bring the blanket and we will provide you with the perfect choice of parks and the best places to go to fill your picnic basket with your favorite wine, cheese, breads, meats and fruit.
If that isn’t your taste check out the findings at one of our newest restaurant’s Sprelly located at 920 Caroline Street in downtown Fredericksburg. Specializing in gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and French crepes….now that is definitely a picnic worthy meal.

Whatever your choice may be, we look forward to you visiting our wonderful, historic hometown and seeing and doing all the amazing things it has to offer. If you would like to see what some of our upcoming events are or more options for picnic ideas check out www.visitfred.com.

We hope you will come visit soon, you won’t be disappointed.
